05/29/2008 - Sierra Landscape Co. Going Green
.jpg) |
Sierra Landscape Co. has made another step towards becoming a green company by adding Honda Hybrids to its fleet of company vehicles. Sierra purchased 4 - 2008 Honda Civic Hybrids to replace their Ford Explorers used by their sales department and safety manager.
The hybrids have environmental benefits that include extremely low emissions with zero-evaporative emissions. In addition to helping the environment, these cars also have a financial benefit with a decrease in fuel costs. The estimated gas mileage is 40 mpg city/45 mpg highway.
Sierra Landscape has an active in-house "Green Committee" which implements environmental friendly office and field practices such as using recycled paper & office products, recycling cans, plastic, paper, automotive oil, and eliminating bottled water and using a filtration system. The Green Committee is headed by Veronica VanCamp, lead estimator. She has a passion for the environment and making sure everyone in the company is doing their part to help. |
